Chatology for Mac FAQ

  1. NOTE: After more than 7 years, Chatology is being discontinued due to major changes with Messages in the upcoming release of macOS Big Sur.

    Chatology is no longer available for purchase but should continue to work on macOS Catalina and earlier. Technical support will officially end on December 31, 2020.

  2. I'm using Messages and transcripts were not enabled. I've enabled it, so why aren't there any chats?

    Since you had transcripts turned off, nothing was ever saved. Now that you've turned it on, new transcripts will be generated as you chat with your friends.

  3. How many Macs can I use Chatology on with my license?

    A single license purchased from the Flexibits Store can be used for personal use by a family of up to six people on multiple Macs. If you want to use Chatology with people who aren't in the same family, such as a business context, then you'll need to purchase additional licenses for each user. We have volume discounts available for bulk license purchases.

  4. What chat log formats does Chatology support?

    Chatology supports Messages and iChat logs. Chatology should continue to work on macOS Catalina and earlier. Technical support will officially end on December 31, 2020.
