Why can I not see my Microsoft delegated calendars in Fantastical
With Microsoft ending support of EWS syncing, Fantastical now uses Graph to sync your accounts in the app and there are some limitations for delegated calendars when using Graph syncing with Microsoft.
Why is my delegated calendar limited?
- A calendar can be limited if the calendar owner shared their calendar using the Everyone in the organization setting instead of sharing it with you directly.
What is limited on the delegated calendar?
The following settings can be used by the calendar owner to limit the information you see on a delegated calendar:
- View only: You won't be able to add, edit, delete, or respond to events on the delegated calendar.
- Main calendar only: You will only see the calendar owner's main calendar in Fantastical. None of their other calendars will show for you in the app.
- Few details: You will only see titles and locations, or just Busy / Tentative / Out of Office, depending on how the calendar was shared. No notes, attendees or meeting links will be visible in Fantastical.
- Short date range: You will only see events ranging about 2 weeks back and 6 weeks ahead.
How can I get full access to a delegated calendar?
To get full access you will need to ask the calendar owner to share their calendar using the Directly with option in Outlook with at least Can view all details access.
Once this change is made, Fantastical will automatically switch the calendar to the new settings and you will be able to see the calendar owner's events show up in the app.
Why is a delegated calendar not showing up in Fantastical?
There are some delegated calendar types that Fantastical is not able to access with Graph syncing:
- Teams calendars: Calendars created through Microsoft Teams will not sync over to Fantastical
- Some Group calendars: Some group calendars are currently not able to sync to Fantastical
