Easily add a new item to a specific calendar or reminder list
Need to add a new event or reminder to a different calendar or reminder list? Type in a slash followed by the calendar or reminder list's name. For example, type in
"Lunch with John /w"to add a new event to your Work calendar. You can also tap the space bar four times instead of using a slash. For example,
Lunch with John<space><space><space><space>wwill do the same thing.
Quickly view a busy schedule in Day or Week view
Have a busy day with so many events that they're overlapping each other and you can't read the titles? Hold the shift and control keys while moving your mouse across events and tasks in the Day and Week view and and the items will expand to make the titles readable.
Change how many days are shown in Week and Month view
Week view shows seven days and Month view shows six weeks by default, but you can change this! Control-click on the Week or Month tab in the calendar window and you can easily change how many days or weeks are shown at a time.
Duplicate an event or task to a specific calendar
You can quickly create a duplicate of an event or task on another calendar by control-clicking on the item, pressing the option key, then selecting Duplicate to Calendar or Duplicate to List.
Hints for entering new events
Fantastical's natural language input is very flexible, so just enter your event the same way you would tell someone, like an assistant! Here are some example sentences you might enter while using Fantastical:
- Grocery shopping at Wegmans Thursday at 5pm
- Lunch with Matthew at 123 Main St at 1:30 Monday
- Family vacation from August 9-18
- Staff meeting Tuesday 2pm alert 20 min
- Soccer practice every Tuesday at 6
- Sam's birthday every year on 5/16
- Pizza party on the 2nd Friday of every month at 1pm
- Flight 593 on Monday 3pm EST to 6pm PST
